Posh seaside resorts and wild and preserved capes
Less than half an hour drive to the east will lead you to Pléneuf-Val-André, a bustling seaside resort combining a charming port flanked by granite houses, with a posh village along a beautiful beach adorned with a pyramidal rock that has established itself as its emblem.
Erquy, the neighbouring resort, also boasts a charming harbour, which has made it one of the “capitals” of the scallop. If you like wild landscapes and hiking trails, don't miss Erquy cape, a site of wild beauty. Stroll to the “Lacs Bleus”, a walk along intriguing ponds dug into the cliff with breathtaking views over the harbour and its small lighthouse topped with a red cap.
A little further along the road, the Cap Fréhel lighthouse proudly dominates the cliffs made of schist and pink sandstone, carpeted with purple heather. This colourful and rugged landscape is a stunning sight, especially if you admire it from the golden beach of Plévenon, stretching just below.
