Unknown treasures of Saint Brieuc’s heritage
Saint-Etienne Cathedral (12th - 15th century) actually looks more like a fortress than a Gothic cathedral! Fardel and Quinquaine streets (the oldest in the city), and Gouët street undoubtedly share the most preserved half-timbered houses (15th and 16th centuries) of the city. You can discover other ones on Place au Lin and Place Louis Guilloux.
At the the 2, rue Saint-Gouéno, you can admire the beautiful Renaissance facade of Hôtel Le Mintier. On the Place du Général-de-Gaulle, the Hôtel du Saint-Esprit is a proud building flanked by a 15th century tower. Nearby is the Pavillon de Bellescyse, located on Place des Droits de l'Homme, a delicate building with a very original architecture. The curves of its roof are gorgeous.
