The Gites at the Painted House are a hidden gem! We stayed in the Van Gough and it was so spacious, with modern bathroom and kitchen but still keeping its rustic charm. The owners Wendy and Steve go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Super comfortable stay in a characterful spacious gite at the Painted House. Lovely welcome from the property owners. Set in a region of rolling vineyards and picturesque towns. Cycling terrain was challenging or relaxing to suit our needs with plentiful cafe stop opportunities. Definitely heading back! Did I mention cognac.

A perfect area for cycling. Varied quiet roads and terrain. The House itself is a very historic property and the gites are within the grounds with all mod cons.

An excellent French cycling holiday! The gite was charming and comfortable, and Steve and Wendy were fantastic hosts, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. Stunning routes around the Cognac area. The rental road bikes were also very good.

This is a simply stunning venue! The gites are lovely, the house is beautiful, the location is ace and the hosts - Frank & Victor - couldn't be lovelier. We had a wonderful time - thank you so much!
